When someone signs up to go to USF, they sign the fogcutter(https://myusf.usfca.edu/fogcutter) and agree to abide by USF policy.
Below I listed the most popular reasons for documentation. This list is not complete for all the possible reasons for documentation. In order to find out more, check out the Fogcutter.
1. Possession of, selling, or being in the presence of alcohol and/or marijuanna. This includes having empty bottles and beer cans in your room. There should not be any bongs in the dorms either. This also includes other illegal drugs. The reason why marijuanna is not allowed on campus is that USF receives federal funding. USF follows federal law, not the California law. Even if you have a medical card, you cannot have or use marijuanna in your dorm.
2. No candles or incendiary items. This can result in a $250 fine and a write up.
3. No hanging things from the ceiling. This can result in documentation. Hanging things from the ceiling would make a potential fire in the dorm worse.
4. No weapons, i.e. tasers, guns, etc.
5. No more than one fridge in your room.
6. Follow Quiet and Courtesy hours. Warnings are considered a courtesy and are not necessary before documentation. Any RA has the right to document someone for violating quiet hours.
7. No boys in the girl's bathroom and no girls in the boy's bathroom. It is the current Gillson policy and will result in documentation if it happens.
8. Do not use social media in order to harass another resident or a USF student.
9. Do not sneak in a resident past the front desk. This will result in getting written up for not properly checking in a resident,
10. No fake IDs. This can result in a large fine and documentation.
11. No using the emergency exits. This will result in a fine and documentation. It will set off the alarms of Gillson.
